Beecher’s Handmade Cheese first opened its doors in 2003 in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market with a mission to make authentic food. Starting with locally sourced ingredients and using time-honored methods, Beecher’s makes delicious cheese that is free of artificial ingredients and full of handmade goodness.
Beecher’s Handmade Cheese asked us to partner with them to design a mobile app for all of their cafe locations. The purpose of the app is to allow customers to order and pay ahead so their orders are ready when they walk up to the counter. We worked closely with the Beecher’s team to simultaneously build iOS and Android versions of the mobile app, and to integrate with their point of sale system.
Point of Sale System Integration
Mentor built the iOS and Android apps so that each café location could set their own menu. Orders coming in from the app would integrate seamlessly with Beecher’s Toast POS system, entering the queue alongside counter orders for the kitchen and keeping inventory up-to-date.
Intuitive Online Ordering
With the mobile app customers can order cheese, meals, even coffee ahead of time and pickup at any of Beecher’s participating locations. For instance a customer could order lunch and have it ready to pick-up at the Sea-Tac Airport Beecher’s Café before boarding their plane.
Custom Content Management
Mentor designed and developed a custom content management system that addressed Beecher’s specific business needs. Café managers could turn menu items on and off for their location, giving them the control to add daily specials or turn off items that sold out early in real time.
