Eddie Bauer is an outdoor apparel brand with a deep history in the Pacific Northwest. Started by Eddie himself as a single storefront known as “Bauer’s Sport Shop” in downtown Seattle in the 1920’s, the brand has grown to be a household name throughout the United States and worldwide.
In anticipation of the company’s 100 year anniversary, Eddie Bauer sought out a partnership with Mentor to transform EddieBauer.com into a cohesive, brand aligned, best-in-class ecommerce website experience.
The new website was designed as a destination to inspire and enable a core audience of active enthusiasts. We leveraged Eddie Bauer’s partnerships with outdoor adventurists to incorporate storytelling, performance visuals, and authenticity into the shopping experience. Functionally we streamlined the shopping funnel through features such as personalization, visual search, improved filtering, a simplified checkout, and a compelling and clear adventure reward and credit card integration.

Through a series of moodboards we were able to explore new ways to envision Eddie Bauer’s existing brand. Bold type treatments, with colors and textures pulled in from highlighted products, set a new tone for the site.
Adding product images along-side search suggestions helps shoppers find what they are looking for more quickly and also allows Eddie Bauer the flexibility to feature products within the search results.
Special attention was placed on the checkout flow. From adding to cart to the purchase experience, we ensured there were no roadblocks for customers having a smooth buying experience.
